Pattern FAQ's

I’d like to alter a garment pattern you have. How do I do that?
I have worked hard on calculating the math on my patterns. If you choose to alter the numbers, pattern, sizing, I will not be available to help you. Altering is on your own.

I think this pattern math is not correct.
Mistakes happen. I work hard to find them before a pattern is released but sometimes an error gets overlooked. If you are certain you have found a math error, please contact me via email and in the header message please type the name of the pattern and the words “Math Error”. This will help expedite the process of checking to see if there is an error.


I can’t get gauge on my yarn. What should I do?
Gauge is VERY important. Patterns are written with size, fabric, drape and fit in mind. When you are gauge swatching, it is very important that your gauge is at least 5 x 5 so you can get an accurate 4 x 4 measurement. If your gauge is off, you run the risk of an ill fitting garment. Swatch, swatch swatch!

If you can not get gauge, then I suggest trying a different yarn.

How do I launder Lux Adorna Knits cashmere?
We ply our cashmere with a cable twist making it a good durable luxury yarn that holds up well to gentle laundering.
2 Methods we use:
  • Hand Wash. We recommend this be the first wash you do so that you can block the item to dry and set the shape.  Fill a sink with lukewarm water sudsy water. Submerge your item and let sit for 10 minutes. While in the water, gently squeeze the item clean it. Rinse under the same temperature water. Gently squeeze out excess water. Roll up the damp item into a towel and squeeze out any remaining water. Lay flat to dry.
  • Machine Wash. Put knit item into an appropriately sized garment bag. Wash the item on gentle cycle in your machine. When done, take out of the garment bag and lay flat to dry.

Do you sell wholesale?
Currently we are not taking on any new retailers. All new retailers wanting to wholesale our yarn will be put on a waiting list. You can contact us via email to be placed on our waiting list.

The yarn is not the color I wanted, how do I return it?
You have 30 days to return yarn to us that was purchased directly from us. You can return any unused yarn as long as it still has the ball band attached and the yarn is in the same condition as you received it. We will not accept any used yarn as a return. Please mail it back to us with a copy of the receipt and we will refund the purchase price of the yarn. We will not refund shipping. A restocking fee of 10% may apply.

Where does your cashmere come from?
Almost 90% of the world’s cashmere comes from Mongolia. The mountainous regions of Mongolia produce some of the finest cashmere fiber on the planet. So, we get it from there! We work with mills in Shanghai that source the Mongolian cashmere. The mills wash, card, dye and spin the cashmere fiber then they send it to us where we ply it on our milling equipment in Boise ID. It is important to us to have our hands on as much of the process as we can. We are proud to ply in the USA!
